The short answer

Agent continuity preserves the relevant governance origin, restrictions and evidence when work is delegated or an agent changes. Supported evolution can improve capability while retaining the authority and resource boundaries that made the work legitimate.

Changing the worker changes the question

A support agent may benefit from a specialist that reads a complicated invoice format. A later model may reason more accurately about the same case. These changes can be useful, but they introduce a question: what restrictions and commitments follow the work to its successor?

If child work receives fresh unlimited credentials or resets budget accounting, delegation has become an authority bypass. A continuity record makes ancestry and the relevant constraints explicit, rather than depending on a successor’s recollection of the previous conversation.

Origins retain the governing relationship

The bounded continuity profile retains origin and ancestor policy and budget relationships. New children or models require their own qualifying evidence segment; greater capability does not itself authorize broader actions.

The published composition supports bounded parent-child relationships and delegation rather than unrestricted recursive expansion. It should not be described as arbitrary federation or unrestricted recursive evolution. The application must connect the documented controls and verify records of completed external actions.

Technical completion is not inherited success

A handoff may complete mechanically while the delegated investigation remains inconclusive. Parent outcome review needs the child’s settlement and supported contribution, not simply a success flag from the transfer mechanism.

The mission review contract keeps work outcomes attributable. A successor should also confirm the current permission before taking new actions. Old permission and an earlier model’s confidence are not proof that present work is still admissible.

Qualify the change before widening use

For a pilot, delegate one bounded evidence task and verify that the child cannot exceed the parent’s restrictions. Replace a model and check that budget consumption, suspension state and unresolved effects remain visible. Keep the required lineage evidence with the actual revision and profile.

Continuity mechanisms provide inspectable software boundaries. They do not prove that a newly selected model is semantically reliable or that unbounded self-modification is safe. The practical value is the ability to change capability without losing the records and constraints needed to govern it.

Keep the customer mandate through product evolution

An AI product will change as models, specialists and customer requirements evolve. The customer should not lose their restrictions, outstanding commitments or work history every time your team changes the intelligence behind the interface. AgentPlat’s bounded continuity composition supports that relationship. It is useful when your product needs an inspectable chain between original responsibility and successor work. Before adopting it, identify the model or delegation change your product actually needs and evaluate that change within the supported profile rather than promising unrestricted self-evolution.

Explore AgentPlat 1.1 adoption when your engineering team is ready to assess the integration, and use the concept series to align product and technical stakeholders on the work model.
